A couple of weeks ago I joined a Facebook group for cozy gamers. I like it much better than my other gaming groups because everyone is so chill and there’s no judgement about what kind of games you play or what console you game on. In the other gaming groups it’s always, “That’s not a real video game,” or “Switch is for children – get a real console or play on PC.” Seriously. You’d think adults would get over that.
Anyway, this new group is awesome and thanks to them, I’ve got a huge wish list of games to play!
One of the games I’ve been curious about thanks to this group is Wylde Flowers. It’s a cozy farming sim with a twist – you’re a witch! Not only do you get to farm, fish, and all that fun stuff I like in cozy games but you get to make potions.
I’ve just gotten into the potions making portion so I’m excited to see what I’ll be able to do with them.
The other thing I like about the game is the characters in the town. Like Fae Farm and Stardew Valley, you can have relationships with some of them. You can get married (and divorced). And the characters have diverse storylines. The conversation hasn’t even really been repeated so far and I’ve put a good 15 or so hours into the game in just a few days. I love tht the conversation is not just a repeat of things I’ve heard before and that it’s unique to the character you’re talking to (unlike Animal Crossing).
So far, this game is a huge win for me.
