The grandma you didn’t know you wanted
Hi all! I’m Nae Nae and I write about all sorts of stuff from gaming to mental health and ADHD to getting older (I’m 56!). This blog is my place to write about whatever I damn well feel like writing about. I hope you find something you like!
Why Nae Nae?
Nae Nae is my grandma name. Dani is my real name but my grandkids have always called me Nae Nae. When my first granddaughter was born, I wanted her to have a different name to call me from the one she called her other grandparents. She has a Kokum, a grandma, and a Nana. So, Nae Nae is what we came up with.
Nae Nae the Writer
I’ve always been a writer. Since I was young, I’ve always been writing something – short stories, poems, novels, essays. Writing is part of who I am. Even if I am only journaling. Some of it has been for publication and you can find lots of my stories on Amazon (much of it under a pen name but publicly you can find me under Dani Gibbings or Dani McGaw).
Blogging has been a big part of my writing. I was big into the whole passive income scene and started with a site called Writing Up. I wrote for Squidoo, HubPages, Bubblews, Medium, and more. I even had my own network of writing sites with a partner (Harlow-McGaw Media). RIP Michelle. And I’ve had tons of blogs. Too many to count.
Now, I exclusively write for myself. I write what I want, when I want. This blog is my catch all. I’ll be re-publishing some old content that has been removed from other sites. But I’ll be writing fresh content here, too.
